Within the period of time wherein litigation files have been handled for the SIA Insurance Company, the two managers resolved a total of 682 pieces of litigation. The resolve of these files is as follows:

As noted a total of 338 litigated files have been resolved with no indemnity payment or an approximate 50 percent. In addition to these numbers, the statistical studies will show 50 percent of all closed litigated files were resolved with expense payments of less than $20,000.
Over the years the SIA Insurance Company, Limited has kept detailed statistics of its claim program. It is felt that these figures reflect the concept of proper claim handling can be successful with the correct administrators.
One final note on this aspect is that of the litigated cases taken to verdict (54) 44 have been successful with that being an approximate rate of 72 percent.
